These performances worked for me!

Here's Davidddddddd!  Ok! Ok!  It's just a moments throwback to the old Johnny Carson days!

David Archuleta - Happy Talk!

David Archuleta is always happy talk!  Everytime I see him or hear him I feel happy!  I am happy that the days are counting down to that June 1st date for his book signing.  Happy Talk!

Rodgers &Hammerstein wrote this song for the movie South Pacific, but they had no idea years later it would be an appropriate discription about a young singer David Archuleta!

You gotta have a dream, if you don't have a dream, how you gonna have a dream come true?
Happy talk, keep talking happy talk,
Talk about things you'd like to do,
You gotta have a dream, if you don't have a dream,
How you gonna have a dream come true?

Talk about a moon floating in de sky, looking like a lily on a lake,
Talk about a bird learning how to fly, making all the music he can make
Happy talk, keep talking' happy talk, talk about things yhou'd like to do,
You gotta have a dream, if you don't have a dream, How you gonna have a dream come true?

'American Idol' Reject Katie Stevens Finally Puts Connecticut On The Map

by Jim Cantiello in Music

"American Idol" contestant Katie Stevens had a lofty goal on the show. In an early episode, the 17-year-old from Middlebury, Connecticut, told America she hoped to put her home state on the map.

The bubbly teen stopped by MTV News (along with fellow eliminated "Idol" Andrew Garcia) to chat about that now-famous Connecticut quote and much more.

Did you know that Katie taught herself to play the piano and the guitar? You'd never think it from her "Idol" run. "My whole thing is I had, they called it 'David Archuleta Syndrome' because David Archuleta would always go into rehearsals saying 'I can't play the piano.' And he really could!" she said. "And that was me. I was like, 'I can't do this, I'm gonna go on stage and I'm gonna mess up immediately and I'm gonna flop and not focus on my voice.' But I'm gonna play the piano with 'Let It Be' on tour."

“Charice Invited Friend David Archuleta To Watch Her Show At Gay Club.”

American Idol runner-up David Archuleta showed his support to Filipino singing sensation Charice after he watched the latter’s performance at Club 57 in New York City last Saturday (April 17).

The online community is now abuzz over Archuleta’s night out at Club 57, a popular gay club in New York City in the United States, last Saturday. Gay rumors have hounded the American singer since he was spotted at the club.

In his Twitter page, Archuleta said he was at Club 57 to show his support for his Filipino friend, Charice.

The 17-year-old Filipino songstress performed “Pyramid,” her current hit single, and “I Will Survive,” but Archuleta did not sing, confirmed Charice’s mom, Raquel.

For Archuleta’s part, he merely laughed off the gay rumors.

Archuleta tweeted: “Last night in New York I got invited to go and see my friend Charice perform. Mental note to self: always ask where before you go! Wasn’t my kind of place lol, and I had no clue! I guess you live and learn.”

“The upside was that Charice was awesome, and she has an incredible voice. Hope that clears things up! Been seeing some of the tweets.. sheesh! Can get crazy quick. NO worries all, I wouldn’t get into things like that intentionally haha. Hope you guys have a good Sunday!”

According to the “American Idol” finalist, Charice has apologized to him after the rumors surfaced.

“Charice is great and she didn’t mean to cause any harm haha. She apologized a lot after. She’s way nice lol,” he wrote.

Last year, Charice did a duet with Archuleta for the latter’s Christmas album.

Charice met Archuleta when she attended Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York in November 2008.

David Archuleta and 'Imagine' Wins MTV Poll

Now that the long and winding road is complete, we can declare the winner of the latest poll. David Archuleta took home the top spot with his rendition of "Imagine," which floored the judges, made the fans swoon and turned Archuleta into a favorite a few years back. He scored a whopping 53 percent of the vote, besting even Bowersox's dominant victory in the earlier poll (this time around, Crystal only mustered one percent). This time around, it was a two man race between Archuleta and the man who finished in second place: Adam Lambert, whose "Mad World" brought in 42 percent of the vote. With 95 percent split up between the top two, the drop-off after Lambert was significant, with only Clay Aiken's "Solitaire" nabbing more than one percent (proof that the Claymates still have some fight in them).

So the challenge is on to the current crop of "American Idol" contestants: Are you better than "Imagine" as sung by David Archuleta? If you are, then stardom awaits.

Blog From David - 4/23/10

Hey everyone

I am checking in from LA today, and I've had some good writing sessions this week already. I worked with Guy Chambers, who wrote Angels with Robbie Williams, and Erika Nuri from The Writing Camp. I also had writing sessions last week with Sam Hollander and Sluggo, who my friend Travis from We The Kings actually told me about because he has worked a lot with them. I also worked with a bunch of other really great writers, who you've probably seen me talk about on Twitter. But I actually have another writing session today with the Nexus lol. And I'll let you guys know how that goes too!

So I was able to go home for a couple of days, and I got to spend time with my family!! Sunday was my cousin's birthday, and I had all of my mom's sisters and some of my cousins over visiting from out of town. It was so great getting to have them all there and hanging out with them! A lot of them have birthdays near each other so we just celebrated all of them at once. But family is such a great thing to have, and to have them supporting you and just being there to lift each other up makes a big difference. Having family or friends who are basically family there to do that for you is a huge blessing.

Last night I performed at the BritWeek Gala Event honoring Sir Richard Branson, and was supporting the foundations Save the Children and Virgin Unite. It was a really great night! I was asked to sing Imagine, and then I also sang Prayer of the Children. Nigel Lythgoe had asked me to come sing at the event. It's funny because I actually ran into him at the Atlanta airport not too long ago, and after I saw him there is when he asked me to come sing. Since he was one of the executive producers on American Idol while I was there, I owe a lot to him for giving me the opportunities I've been able to have from the show. He's a good guy haha. But man, Morgan Freeman was there and I wish I had gotten the chance to meet him! I went to use the restroom and kept getting stopped and talking to people, never really getting time to go over and talk to him. But I think he's just one of the coolest guys.

In LA there are a lot of signs around saying "April is Earthquake Preparedness Month." I think it's really important to remind people about how we need to think about what we would do in an emergency like an earthquake, or any other kind of situation like that. I think it'd be great if you have a family to go through what everyone would do in an emergency, and come up with a plan on how to deal with things. Things like food storage and emergency kits can be so useful in an emergency. I probably sound weird right now lol, but I think with everything happening it's important to get people thinking about it and being prepared for possible events to happen. Keeping a water supply, non-perishable foods, flashlights, things like that. Just to keep in mind I guess. There are websites you can find out more info on. Here are a couple:

http://www.ready.gov/

http://www.72hours.org/

I don't want to sound like I'm paranoid or anything lol, but you never know what could happen. I'm going to try and get back home for the weekend and just go through things with my family and make a plan too. I remember in school they were talking about how Utah is due for a pretty big earthquake too, and with everything going on right now you never know what could happen.

Well sorry for going off on that, but I'm going to get back into this writing session I'll tweet later and try to get another blog up next week. Adios!

Song for the day: I Am Not A Robot - Marina and the Diamonds

This is probably my favorite song right now lol. Just really quirky

'Idol's' biggest charmers

April 23, 2010
6:38 pm

A confession: Tim Urban charmed me. Some, like L.A. Times music critic Ann Powers, might call it pointed manipulation, but I've met the kid and there's not a deceitful bone in his happy-go-lucky body. To the contrary, Tim is a gentleman. He was home-schooled and raised right. He doesn't swear, says gosh instead of God, and good performance or bad, his eternally optimistic outlook never diminished. In fact, it was contagious. So in honor of his recent exit, and because the bushy-haired comeback kid reminded me of getting-to-know-you moments with a few "American Idol" favorites, here's my top five picks for "Idol's" biggest charmers. (Surprisingly, they're not all from the South.

5. David Archuleta: Here's another portrait of an Idol charmer: It's no more than a two-minute walk from the "Idol" stage doors to the parking lot, but for Archuleta, who came in second to Cook on Season 7, that can take more than half an hour. That's because the well-mannered Archie insists on hugging and catching up with each and every member of the crew, from the producers to wardrobe staffers, security and even the dude at the craft services table -- all people with whom he's on a first-name basis. In truth, not even the burliest stagehand can resist Archie's dimples, nervous laugh and aw-shucks shrug to anything even slightly out of his comfort zone, and neither can this seasoned "Idol" observer.

1. David Cook 2. Adam Lambert 3. Casey James 4. Kellie Pickler 5. David Archuleta
(Frankly I feel she should at least reverse the order! Haha!)

What do you think of my picks? Who did I leave out? Has an Idol ever charmed you?

David Archuleta - He Sang Waiting on the World to Change

As the two year anniversary of David Archuleta’s appearance on American Idol’s Season 7 finale approaches, the realization that time does not stand still is evident. Many changes have occurred within David and for the better, such as acquiring those skills that come with maturity and knowing how to use them when necessary. But the most apparent change has been the one he has made on his fans. Our lives have changed for the better and the following article I wrote some time back still applies to the present.

He Sang Waiting on the World to Change
Jan. 22, 2009

Wow, did it ever! A sweet 16 year old took us all by surprise and changed our lives for the better. A sweet smile, a laugh, a giggle, those gorgeous eyes and the shyness that occurred when he didn’t know how to answer a question, but give him a stage and he was right at home melting hearts with his velvet voice and charming personality. His humility was heartwarming when complimented, almost to a fault. He gave us perfect performances with a gift of love and appreciation for our support. American fell in love!

His hard work and passion for his music didn’t go unnoticed but many under estimated him. For as much as he was shy and humble, he was also determined and focused and very savvy in the music world. Week after week he sailed through the judges’ comments and kept coming up on top. The more he sang the more he sealed his fate. A Star was born and in the process became a Super Star known far and wide.

His tour with American Idol was extremely successful and it became apparent he was the one everyone wanted to see. His first single release was a mega-hit and his album the same and another single will do the same. Numbers, charts, polls, voting, streaming, requests, promotions, gifting, haven’t stopped and are giving him the success of all his dreams and wishes. His fans are fanatical but also loyal and watch his back. He keeps his family close, treasures his friends and always stays ‘just David’. He is one of the most confident and courageous young artist I have ever met. His faith and morals he holds to the highest standards and is open and honest about his principals. What more can you ask of him that he hasn’t already given us.

His time is limited as many events pull him from place to place but at every opportunity he let’s us know what is happening and thanks us for his success as he feels he would not be where he is today without his fans. We should definitely make sure he knows how thankful we are for him and his music and that this anniversary with him has been the best journey one could ever have.

From all your devoted fans we love you and wish you the best on your upcoming solo tour and can’t wait for the opportunity to see you again in person.

Congratulations David for changing our World!

David Archuleta and 'Imagine' MTV News Poll Winners

MTV NEWSROOM
David Archuleta's 'Imagine' Tops The 'American Idol' Performance Poll

Posted 1 hr ago by Kyle Anderson in Music

Though most fanatics would agree that this season of "American Idol" is a little lackluster, it has also sparked more debates than perhaps any season since the show debuted back in 2002. How important are the judges? Has Kara DioGuardi improved? Who should replace Simon Cowell? Was the last season the best of all time? Should the show value quality of performance over stuff like vocal strength and musical accuracy? All of these questions have been tossed around all season.

This week's debate surrounded Crystal Bowersox, the "American Idol" frontrunner whose presence on the show has been surrounded by personal controversy (first involving her health, then the story that she nearly abandoned the show a few weeks back). This week, she delivered a jaw-dropping, emotional performance of "People Get Ready" that tore the house down and lit the Internet on fire. The conversation started: Did Bowersox just deliver the greatest performance in the history of the show? And if she didn't, who actually has?

In the first poll we presented this week, Bowersox won handily, besting performances by eventual winners Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and David Cook. But "American Idol" fans cried foul, saying that our series of nominees came up a bit short. So we rolled out a second poll that featured nominations from fans who had sounded off in the comments section of the blog.

What do you think of David Archuleta's version of "Imagine"? Is it truly the best "American Idol" performance of all time? Let us know in the comments!

The David Archuleta Syndrome

'American Idol' Reject Katie Stevens Finally Puts Connecticut On The Map

Posted 2 hrs ago by Jim Cantiello in Music

Fans shouldn't be too surprised Katie will be covering "Let It Be" on tour. It was, after all, her best-received performance on the show. But for Stevens, that particular episode was special to her for other reasons. "I liked that week not only because it was a good performance and because it was heartfelt, but because in the [pre-performance video] packages they showed our personalities," Stevens said. "I was really upset that America sees us for literally five minutes. That's not a lot of time to connect with us."

She looks forward to connecting to fans this summer on the "American Idols Live!" tour, where she'll continue to write original songs with the hopes of heading into a recording studio later this year. (College is also on the horizon: The high school senior has been accepted into several universities but she won't be able to begin school until next January thanks to the "Idol" schedule.)

So about that whole "put Connecticut on the map" thing. Katie may not have won "Idol," but I wanted to give her the chance to say she definitely achieved her goal. As you'll see in the video below, MTV News can make dreams come true. Watch Katie literally put Connecticut "on the map!"

Are you excited to see Katie play piano on tour? What do you think of "David Archuleta Syndrome?" And how does Katie stack up with other famous Connecticutters? Leave a comment below or tweet me (and follow me!) @jambajim.

David Archuleta - What Can We Expect On Second Album!

I always raise my expectations more than I should for an artist’s next album when their last was really good.

I often want artists to just put out a second album that is the same as the first, like just an extra 10 or 12 songs that could have easily been on the first album. It is hard to get that same feeling for a second album that you have for a debut, but David Archuleta will not disappoint his fans.

Maybe it is just because it is so exciting and new at first. It is so much fun getting excited about a new album. You also have great expectation for that second album. It just becomes impossible for the artist to deliver with that second album. It is just better for an artist to try to do something different for the second and third album. Still, creating an album that has the elements that made you fall in love with the first one is important in a way, while simultaneously creating new sounds and styles that give you the same kind of excitement you had for the first album.

It is not an easy task to pull off, and more often than not, most second albums fail to pull it off, so it makes it even more fantastic when it happens.

Once you start imagining the songs you can’t stop thinking what will they be about? Will some just have catchy tunes, great chorus, mid-tempo or how about that song about love that you need a Kleenex for? David has stated this album will reflect his personality, perhaps a song about a hopeful future and one that makes you want to dance. That toe tapping one, like his Zero Gravity, or a song about making you a better person.

Ok, so this is my imagination on the loose, but David Archuleta fans have been waiting for new music, new material and soon it will arrive. David will easily answer the expectations with vocal brilliance and a strong collection of contemporary songs.

Whether you hear him from a studio recording or live performance he’ll blow us away and again capture his place in the sun

David Archuleta - A Sweet And Good Person!

Philosophers have been debating what is good and what is not for centuries. Many people find that it's more complicated than just being kind, and several complex religions have arisen with the attempt to understand the difference between good and evil. While every person's journey is different, being good has a lot to do with discovering yourself and your role in the world. David has discovered this and realizes in order to be good, you actually have to do good things rather than just avoid doing bad things.

Have you ever heard the saying that "the road to hell is paved with good intentions"? It's not enough to want to do good, and to try to do good--you must also think about whether your actions actually had good results. Not every attempt to do good will end with good results, so when things don't work out, be willing to reconsider your actions and change them accordingly. Never let your sense of duty, loyalty, or obligation get in the way of doing what's right.

David has decided on his own code of ethics, and what matters is that he follows through with what he believes makes him a good person. At times this may conflict with what others believe is good and they might accuse him of being wrong.

This isn't easy, but if being good was easy, wouldn't every good-hearted person be good? Here are a couple of  dilemmas we all may encounter.

It's good to be humble and kind, but is it not good to be so humble and kind that you let people walk all over you, to the extent that it damages your physical and emotional health, or lessens your ability to care for or spend time with your family. David has mentioned recently that he now has to stand up for himself because it may not only effect him but other in his life.

It's good to be honest, but is it good to be so honest that you hurt people's feelings unnecessarily, violate someone's privacy or prevent someone from finding answers that they might need to find for themselves?

Recent events have gone too far, opinions about someone else can be honest but do they necessarily need to be cruel, I think not. Many people commenting about David have been cruel, selfish, immature and some unprofessional.

Many times, helping someone else become a good person in a gentle, open-minded and unimposing way can help you learn and become a better person yourself.  We should all practice that, David does!

David isn’t a good person because his parents told him to be or for recognition or for respect, but for his own satisfaction in doing what he believes is good. He never acts superior to anyone else or brags about “goodness or righteousness”. His dedication to a particular religion, or set of guidelines does not make him better than anyone else. He does what he believes makes him a good person on his own terms, remember that it’s an individual journey-everyone’s path is unique.

David is special, gifted with great talent and most of all inspirational.  I thank everyday for having him in my life.

David Archuleta - Tweets to Explain - No Explanation is Necessary!!!!

I was deeply saddened by the events that went on last evening on Twitter.  David Archuleta felt on his Holy Sunday to address issues of gossip!  Shame on so many who felt it necessary to put this young man in a position to defend himself.

Dear David,

No explanation was necessary!  We love and support you and hope you forgive those less worthy!

Love,

David Archuleta and Jason Castro keep in touch

Posted on April 14, 2010 by Huong
This is an extract from “American Idol’s’ Jason Castro on debut album: ‘A real breathing, natural feel’“

Are you still in touch with any of the Idols?

Jason: Yeah, I keep in touch with a lot of people pretty regularly. With Twitter and Facebook, it really helps keep up with what people are doing. WE see if somebody says, “Hey, I’m in whatever city” and I just happen to be there and call each other up and try to catch dinner or whatever. David Archuleta texts me a lot, Brooke texted me the other day, I saw Michael Johns recently. I feel like on Twitter I’m having conversations with everybody all day. [laughs]

David also happily promotes Jason’s debut album on Twitter:

David Archuleta - Art Over Fame!

Singer songwriters came into popularity in the early 1970’s and they are still sharing their stories with us today.

A singer-songwriter is a musician who writes, composes and sings their own material including lyrics and melodies. They often provide the sole accompaniment to an entire composition or song, typically using an acoustic guitar or piano. Their lyrics are often personal. The song is more important than the performance. The sound can be sparse, direct and reflective, again placing the emphasis on the song itself.

David Archuleta is a singer-songwriter, his music is art and he is in love with his art, not just with the fame it might bring. Singing and interpreting song is art and he does it very well.

Great singers and entertainers from Elvis Presley defined popular music, of course, but so too have the great singer-songwriters, from Lennon/McCartney and Bob Dylan and thousands of others, they are the mindset as well as the sound of successive generations.

Using the word "star" is what most singers think of as their dream career. The singers today all want to be a star, a pop star or, as some of them say, "an international superstar”.

Singers today lack the emotions that transends the meaning of song lyrics that connect to their audience during a performance. David is working hard to to make sure his songs on his new album show his personality, his interpretation that defines him as an artist not just a star.

Good music speaks to people, and it can change lives and do good things. David Archuleta’s music touches people, it speaks to our hearts and makes us happy and wants us to be better.

Isn’t that what great music should do?

David Archuleta - New York Songwriting with Jeremy Skaller & Bobby Bass

David Archuleta is seriously writing to get his album finished.  This week he is in New York with Jeremy Skaller, Bobby Bass and Cjai.  I noticed that Cjai was happy to see David's fans interested and twittering today, maybe we will get some bubble tweets from this dynamic duo!  Here is a little bio on Jeremy!

About me:

I am a record producer in NYC. My company is called The Orange Factory. My partner is Bobby Bass. We have several artists signed to us, or who work closely with us. Thara, Masha,Lil Eddie, Cynthia Lissette, Jay Sean, Israel..to name a few. As a company we have produced/remixed or written plenty of Billboard #1's..including Britney Spears, Kelly Rowland, Kylie Minog, Danity Kane, Usher, Chris Brown, just to name a few. We have platinum records under our belts as well.

Who I'd like to meet:

serious and talented artists ONLY.

David Archuleta - New York! New York! Doing What?

The Big Apple gets David Archuleta this week…..doing what? Songwriting, shopping? Nooo! It might be finalizing events for his book release on June 1st. More scheduled signings would be nice, especially here in California, and what about all those TV morning talk shows we want to see him on!! I would love to see David sitting discussing his book and philosophizing on the overall values by which one lives.

David has become a very self assured person and has thought deeply about the meaning he wishes to covey in his music and his book. We all have a great gift coming in June, not just a book release but the realization of a sweet 16 year-old we admired fulfilling his destiny and becoming a man.

Mixed emotions are circulating within my heart. My instincts say let go and enjoy the natural progression of life’s circle of growth. Yet, my maternal side is sad that the young boy that grabbed my heart is gone and a mature young man has emerged with charm, confidence and determination. Make no mistake I love this phase of David as much as the first one, its just hard to let him go and grow up.

The other side to this story is that we will have new and exciting experiences with David as he shows us, the music and literary world the knowledge and wisdom that have always been a part of him and the faith that has kept him grounded.

Waiting is so hard to do!

David Archuleta - Don't Underestimate Yourself! Someone may need you!

Who I Am Makes A Difference!

After reading David’s twitters about the difference you can make in people lives no matter how small it might be, I stumbled upon this great story by MuhdSyukri. It is a really inspiring story for everyone to read.

A teacher in New York decided to honor each of her seniors in High School by telling them the difference each of them had made. She called each student to the fron of the class one at a time. First, she told each of them how they had made a difference to her, and the class. Then she presented each of them with a blue ribbon, imprinted with gold letters, which read. “Who I am Makes a Difference.” She gave each student three more blue ribbons, and instructed them jto go out and spread this acknowledgment ceremony. Then they were to follow up on the results, see who honored whom, and report to the class in about a week.

One of the boys in the class went to a junior executive in a nearby company, and honored him for helping him with his career planning. He gave him a blue ribbon, and put it on his shirt. Then he gave him two extra ribbons and said, “We’re doing a class project on recognition, and we’d like for you to go out, find some one to honor, and give them a blue ribbon.

Later that day, the junior executive went in to see his boss, who had a reputation of being kind of a grouchy fellow. He told him that he deeply admired him for being a creative genius. The boss seemed very surprised. The junior executive asked him if he would accept the gift of the blue ribbon, and give him permission to put it on him. His boss said, “Well, sure,” The junior executive took one of the blue ribbons and placed it right on his boss’s jacket, above his heart. And then he asked, offering him the last ribbon, “Would you take this extra ribbon, and pass it on by honoring somebody else. The teenager who gave me these is doing a school project, and we want to keep this ribbon ceremony going and see how it affects people.”

That night, the boss came home and sat down with his 14-year-old son. He said, “The most incredible thing happened to me today. I was in my office, and one of my employees came in and told me he admired me, and gave me a blue rib bon for being a creative genius. Imagine! He thinks I am a creative genius! Then he put a blue ribbon on me that says, “Who I Am Makes A Difference. He gave me an extra ribbon and asked to find somebody else to honor. As I was driving home tonight, I started thinking about who I would honor with this ribbon, and I thought about you. I want to honor you. My days are hectic and when I come home, I don’t pay a lot of attention to you. I yell at you for not getting good enough grades and for your messy bedroom. Somehow, tonight, I just wanted to sit here and, well, just let you know that you do make a difference to me.

Besides your mother, you are the most important person in my life. You’re a great kid, and I love you!”

The startled boy started to sob and sob, and he couldn’t stop crying. His whole body shook. He looked up at his father and said through his tears, “Dad, earlier tonight I sat in my room and wrote a letter to you and Mom, explaining why I had took my life, and I asked you to forgive me. I was going to commit suicide tonight after you were asleep. I just didn’t think that you cared at all. The letter is upstairs. I don’t think I’ll need it after all.” His father walked upstairs and found a heartfelt letter full of anguish and pain.

The boss went back to work a changed man. He was no longer a grouch, but made sure to let all of his employees know that they made a difference. The junior executive helped many other young people with career planning, one being the boss’ soon, and never forgot to let them know that they made a difference in his life. In addition, the young man and his classmates learned a valuable lesson: “Who you are DOES make a difference”.

Sometimes, we just don’t have time to realize and appreciate people around us that make a difference in our life. It might be your parents, siblings, friends, or people on twitter. Appreciate them as David does and try to make a difference on other peoples lives.

David Archuleta - Rumors about Single and Album Release Dates

Release Dates for Single and Album

Jive Records is leaking information......They must be getting ready to release David Archuleta's single soon. Rumors say perhaps as early as April 26th for the single and if all goes well June 15th for the release date on his album.  Since June 14th is my Birthday I would really appreciate they keep that in mind!  Haha!

The fact that Eman may have three songs that they definately considering makes me extremely happy!  He has worked so hard and I remember David saying he was very excited about a couple of them.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that the rumors are correct and in a few days we will have a new David song for our ipods!

David Archuleta - 'Imagine' - My Adrenalin Rush

David on American Idol

Now that the adrenalin rush has left me I now can concentrate on my impression of David Archuleta’s Wednesday night Idol performance.

The lights dimmed, his name is announced and you see him sitting at a piano and a blue haze of lights caress him on the stage and he begins to sing. The cameras move towards his hands, his face and his new haircut. Now I am really distracted as we see loafers with no socks, white pants a fitted shirt with tie and boy has those P90 exercises paid off! Hot! Hot! Oh, and his singing by the way was fabulous.

A more mature David Archuleta performed last night reawakening those who may have doubts about his ability to sing a song. Sandwiched between Jason Derulo (never heard of him) and Rihanna spotlighted the real talent last night, David Archuleta. The gyrations, lights flashing, dancers and mediocre singing by others fizzled and burned as David’s performance stood out as the best of the evening.

He showed American Idol how it should be done! As Michael Orland, AI musical directed said a long time ago, “David Archuleta came to AI a musical genius and left as one”. That genius reappeared last night with a brilliant version of ‘Imagine’ and reaffirmed his popularity. Never under estimate David, he may still be a little shy but his bold talent outweighs his shy and humble nature.

Real talent comes from within and David Archuleta has always been about emotion and true organic music with a message. Bravo!

David Archuleta - 'Imagine' Spectacular Performance on American Idol

After David Archuleta's performance on American Idol last night there is really not much I can say that these articles haven't already stated.  David was magnificant!  Enjoy this special performance video!

Masterclasslady
Vocal prodigy, David Archuleta, made another triumphant return to the American Idol stage during Season 9’s Top 9 Results Show on April 7th.

Seated quietly at the piano, he performed another inspiring version of John Lennon’s “Imagine”, once again reminding all of us that he is a force to be reckoned with. The sophistication and poise he brings to this performance is pretty amazing. How he is able to pack so much into one song and yet make it sound flawless and effortless is beyond me. He is truly a rare and precious gem in the musical world.

And yet, not only is this genuine young man supremely talented, but also he is a kind and gentle human being who is extremely humbled and thankful for the prodigious musical gift bestowed on him at birth.

He is so approachable and so gracious to everyone – is it any wonder that he is collecting more and more fans with each passing day?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
David Archuleta was on the stage tonight and pleasing the crowds for the Results Show portion of American Idol tonight. Fans from around the world have been waiting to hear this heartthrob once again on the stage and he had his moment. A popular Idol and runner up from season 7, he didn't disappoint his fans when he hit the stage. Absolutely inspiring it was a great night for Idol music with his sitting in front of the piano and belting the words out.

The song Archulata sang for the crowd for tonight was the Beatles hit "Imagine". A moving performance, it was nothing less than a perfect.

The Results Show of American Idol was promised to be a shocker when Ryan Seacrest started at the top of the hour. In severe stress mode, the contestants got to hear some great music while waiting for their fate to be decided.

9:30 p.m. We still don't have a single member of the Bottom Three, but what we do have is the triumphant return of Presumptive American Idol Winner David Archuleta, or specifically his version of "Imagine."

9:32 p.m. With the possible exception of David Archuleta fans, everybody loves to make fun of David Archuleta, but the talent gap between Little Archie and a teen pretender like Aaron Kelly is massive. There's little doubt that Little Archie would be the toast of this season's "Idol" men as well.

9:34 p.m. David is doing writing and recording on his next album, which should be released "soon."

HitFix

We still haven't announced the bottom three -- and we're still not going to. Instead, we'll hear David Archuleta sing Imagine, including the first verse that he decided to forego during his competition performance. I don't know that I've heard him sing this song since that year, and I'm impressed with just how much his voice has matured. It's much fuller, much richer, and much more facile.

Ryan and David talk about all the writing and recording he's doing. David says the new single and album should be coming soon, though he doesn't give anything resembling a date or even a general timetable.

Idol Chatter check out the title of the article from Brian Mansfield :)

Judging from the enthusiasm David Archuleta fans have expressed about his appearance on tonight’s show, he could autograph any type of memorabilia and the bids would pour in.

And now we hear from David Archuleta, singing “Imagine.” This should be special. On the piano no less.

Listen up, Aaron Kelly. This is what you’ve been aspiring to. Two years ago, this is the song that made David a favorite on American Idol. And he sure didn’t forget how to sing it, huh?

Pretty special, just like I predicted. David always displayed wonderful vocals on Idol. And he was always at his best performing sensitive songs like that one.

David says he’s always nervous in front of the judges, afraid of the critique to come. Really, David, you’d have nothing to worry about after a performance like that. Trust me, it would have ranked as one of the best in season nine.

And great news for David fans. A new single and a new album should be coming soon.

David Archuleta - Singing 'Imgine' on American Idol - Wed. 4/7/10

It's confirmed  that David Archuleta will be appearing on American Idol results show to sing 'Imagine'!  David always seems to get nervous when singing here in Los Angeles, but I know he will give us an emotional performance that will outshine his predecessors and excite the audience!  Can't wait!!!!

MTV News
Archuleta will reprise his breakout performance of 'Imagine' for Lennon/McCartney week.

By Shawn Adler

For the second time in three years, "American Idol" contestants are taking on the works of John Lennon and Paul McCartney. This time, they're doing it with a little help from their friends.

Fox announced Monday (April 5) that this week's results program, airing Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET, will feature performances by Rihanna, singing "Te Amo"; Jason Derülo, singing "In My Head"; and season-seven runner-up David Archuleta, performing Lennon's "Imagine."

While this is the first appearance on the wildly popular show for Rihanna and Derülo, 19-year-old Archuleta is of course most widely known for his run on the program, making his mark during season seven with his showcase performance of the erstwhile Beatle's famous solo hit.

The song, in fact, became a calling card of sorts for the then-17-year-old crooner, who first performed it in only his second week on the show. At the time, his rendition of the tune catapulted him to front-runner status, leaving then-judge Paula Abdul teary-eyed and igniting a wellspring of support. Archuleta made it all the way to the final show, failing only to beat rival David Cook.

Rihanna, Derülo and Archuleta are the latest high-profile singers to be featured on "Idol" this year, following performances from Diddy-Dirty Money and Usher last week and Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas the week before.

Songs from the Lennon/McCartney playbook were originally featured in the first two weeks of the season-seven finals.

David Archuleta - Possible 'American Idol' Appearance 4/7/10

Wow!  Rumors, Rumors and more Rumors!

Normally, I don't pay too much attention to rumors as I usually get dissappointed when they don't fulfill my expectations!  But come on everyone, how can we not get excited about this one???

David Archuleta on American Idol wednesday night is a dream come true...what will he sing?  What do we want him to sing?  ANYTHING!!!!

Of course, 'Imagine' and 'Long and Winding Road' comes to mind but there are a lot of other Beatle songs he could choose from.  Perhaps he will sing a new song he has been working on!!!!!  Doesn't matter what he sings as there will be such an excitement in the air I can't wait!!!

Idolsnow has been tweeting hints about a performer for this week’s Results Show on Wednesday.

It's a male with at least two vowels in his last name.
This person has a first or last name with an “A” as the first or second letter, or maybe both.
He has been interviewed by Fred Bronson (Idolsnow made a point to provide a link to David’s interview)
We know that the performer is NOT from Season 1, 3, or 8.
It’s someone who has been watching American Idol since Season 1 (wow, this seems like a BIG clue.)
This person is a finalist (in the top 12) from one of the seasons.

Idol Contestants To Take On The Beatles Next Week

4/3/2010 9:35 AM ET

(RTTNews) - American Idol's Top 9 will test their skills on Beatles songs next week, in a theme-night titled the "Lennon-McCartney Songbook." During Wednesday night's show, host Ryan Seacrest revealed that this season's contestants will take up the challenge last attempted in Top 12 and Top 11 weeks during season 7.

Next week will also see a performance of "Te Amo" by Barbadian pop queen Rihanna.

Past Idol renditions of Beatles tunes has brought mixed reviews from the the judges with memorable performances including David Archuleta's take on John Lennon's solo single "Imagine." Earlier this season, several contestants attempted Lennon-McCartney tunes. Songs like "Fixing A Hole," "Oh! Darling" and "I Want To Hold Your Hand" have been covered.

American Idol Winner Odds

It's great to see people in the media mentioning David Archuleta in their articles!

2010 American Idol Winner Odds

This is a pretty sad season overall for American Idol talent. The field is down to nine, and the people being eliminated each week are still completely unable to compete. The idea of the show is to get down to three or four who can cut records and make lots of money. Ideally, there will be four finalists who can hit different genres of music and ring the bell hard for the Idol team.

In the past, Idol has placed talent in rock, R&B, country, and even showtunes and Broadway. That is what they hope for this year. Who among the nine left can advance to that four, and then on to the win. Winning is not necessary for success. In fact, it may not even help. Adam Lambert and David Archuleta both finished second, and to be honest, I can’t remember whether Ruben Studdard or Clay Aiken won. David Cook won, but Daughtry and Elliott Yamin didn’t. Carrie Underwood won, but Jennifer Hudson did not. There is a lot of room for making money and recording hits.

So who will win, and who will be cast into the dustbin of the unmemorable Idol contestants?

David Archuleta's Best 'Angels' - Tulsa, Oklahoma

The beauty of his face appearing through the fog as the stage rises was a moment of devine ecstasy!  His voice was a dream, floating, circulating our space and embracing our soul!  The wow factor was there and his body language showed intense emotion and control and our eyes never left him for a second.

Tulsa, Oklahoma ..September 2008...I was in the fourth row, floor section and haven't recovered from the experience since.  Many debate if this was the best performance, I feel it was the best Angels he has ever sang.  There was something about that night that spotlights this performance over others.  Perhaps it was his intensity, his confidence or as I like to say, his talent outshined even our expectations.

David doesn't need to prove his talent, but he did prove that night the magnitude of his talent was far greater than many gave him credit for and presently he is receiving the adulation he deserves.

This is a lovely video!  Enjoy!
